Trowell took on Keyworth again having recently won the reverse fixture 2—1, the pitch at the Pit lane was heavy but in reasonable condition, however a strong wind blowing across the pitch would make things difficult.
The game started with Keyworth only fielding 10 players but they held on well into the first half as Trowell missed a hat full of chances up front, it took a great ball in from Jake Stubbs on 30 minutes to break the deadlock as he found Mitch Williams who skilfully guided the ball home for Trowells opening goal.
Almost immediately afterwards Trowell struck again through Connor Chilton as he tapped home after Mitch Williams had forced a good save from Keyworths keeper, Trowell 2 Keyworth 0 at half time.
Trowell settled better in the second half and scored a super goal 10 mins in with a great solo effort down the middle from Connor Griffin.
As the game progressed Keyworth lost another player when the ref had little choice but to send off their player following a second incident; however it was a 9 man Keyworth who scored next with a well taken free kick some 20 yds out. Trowell 3 Keyworth 1
Trowell now took over as Keyworth struggled, and scored 2 more goals, the first a tap in for Josh West after a good save by their keeper and finally a great effort from Jack Sanders who blasted home after fending off several defenders taking the final score to Trowell 5 Keyworth 1
Man of the match went to Mitchell Williams after a superb display in defence, scored a good opening goal and had other efforts well saved by Keyworths keeper.
Well done Lads DCF
