Trowell FC 3 Attenboro Colts 2

Trowell started the game from where they left off last week, with good possession football, both sides battled hard to gain control of the game. On 15 mins Trowell opened their account, Mitch took a free kick from outside the box which was placed right into the six yard box, the defender had little choice but to challenge for the ball and headed into his own goal 1- 0. Trowell pressed hard for the rest of the half and had all of the best chances, Connor C, Josh and Benji all had chances that were saved by the keeper. On 25 mins Mitch played a ball into Benji’s path, the Attenborough defender had two attempts at tackling him before bringing him down for a penalty. Jack stepped up to take the spot kick and slotted home into the bottom corner. Trowell kept up the pressure to end the first half in total control.

The start of second half was different story, either Trowell switched off or Attenborough started to play their better football, but on 46 mins they scored, the bouncing ball beating the defence and the striker slotting home one on one against Luke 2 – 1. Trowell had several chances to reply but again either missed the net or saved by the keeper. On 60 mins Attenborough equalised with a goal very similar to the first 2 –2. Trowell started to wake up and get their earlier control of the game back and on 70 mins regained the lead, Connor C took the ball into the corner and floated a cross for Nakeel to rise unchallenged and head home 3 –2. The rest of the game was an even contest with nether side testing the keepers with their chances.

Special mention to Trowell’s new look back 4 for today Mitch, Danny, Ryan and Charlie all worked hard as a group to keep Attenborough at bay.

Man Of the Match: Connor C never stopped working
