Trowell needed a win to guarentee 2 nd place today but weren’t quite up to it !!, A sluggish start from Trowell allowed a good Netherfield team to take the lead on 7 mins with a well taken goal following sloppy defending, however Trowell came back into the game on 22 mis when a Free kick was awarded to Trowell just outside their area on the left Benji Hill stepped up and planted a great shot high into the net to level the scores.
Trowell struggled to get going again and were punished late in the first half when Netherfield found the net to take the score to Netherfield 2 Trowell 1 at half time.
Early on into the second half Trowell were reduced to 10 men after a deliberate hand ball in the area saw Dwayne get his marching orders, fortunately for us Netherfield blasted the resulting penalty high over the bar!!.
The remainder of the half saw Trowell getting tired and not stringing their usual passing football together, but almost on full time Trowell were awarded a penalty after a foul inthe box, Jack Sanders confidently slammed the ball into the net to bring the final score to 2 –2 .
Well done lads shame we couldnt get another to guarantee that runners up spot always next week to finish the job!! Benji Hill won the man of the match today for his goal and tireless efforts up front.
