Trowell FC 4 Keyworth 1

A ‘must win’ game today for Trowell as they welcomed Keyworth to Pit Lane. A win for the home side would see them stay in touch with 5th place in the league.

A good start by Trowell and Matt Gadsby scored with only minutes on the clock with a low shot to the left of goal.
A Charlie Sanders corner, and defender Adam Morley got forward and struck a sweet volley into goal. Moments later and a chance went begging as Daniel Gadsby struck the post.
Straight from Keyworth’s kick-off in the second half, and with each pass, they were forced backwards until a mistake by a defender had Oliver Severn pounce on the ball and shoot at goal to make it 3 – 0. Trowell then seemed to relax a bit too much and allowed Keyworth to attack. As time went on, every loose ball found a Keyworth player and Trowell began to give away pointless free kicks in dangerous areas. The visitors finally got a goal when an un-marked player shot at goal, beating keeper Ryan Liversidge.
But normal business was resumed moments later thanks to Matthew Maplestone blasting the ball into the back of the net from close range following a header by Tom Lock. The game finished 4 – 1 to Trowell.
Trowell have now taken 7 points from 9 and have got the belief, skill and confidence to climb League 1.
