Trowell FC 1 Blidworth Welfare Black FC 3

This game was Trowell’s chance to move up the league 1 table as they took on newly promoted Blidworth at Pit Lane.

Blidworth scored 2 early goals, the 2nd after Trowell’s defence couldn’t clear and allowed players to drift into the box, un-marked.
From this point on, Trowell were chasing the game. Adam Morley had plenty of clearances from his defensive role, and Jacob Browne and Sam Nyilasi together cleared a shot off the goal line. Matthew Gadsby looked very strong and confident in midfield, and Ben Jeffery was reliable as ever in right-back. Also worthy of mention was Lewis Beaumont whose running back and tackling was immpressive.
A brighter start in the 2nd half saw Trowell passing the ball much better, yet struggling to feed both forwards, Oliver Severn and Ryan Malone. But a 3rd goal by Blidworth thwarted any chance of a Trowell comeback, and a well struck shot by Matthew Green (his 2nd of the weekend) was just a consolation goal for the home side.
