Trowell welcomed Pelican to Pit Lane on this day full of hope and confidence.
From kick-off Trowell attempted to play the ball through midfield to feed regular strikers Oliver Severn and Ryan Malone, but struggled to find a way through their visitors defence. For a majority of the first half Trowells defence was tested to the maximum and only heroic efforts by Lewis Beaumont, Matthew Maplestone, Jacob Browne and goalkeeper Ryan Liversidge thwarted Pelicans attack. The only goal of the game came when a crossed ball into Trowells box couldn’t be cleared and saw an own goal scored.
After the interval Trowells possesion was more commanding and they had Pelican on the back foot on numerous occasions. Ben Jeffery, Adam Morley and Charlie Sanders all contributed into pushing play up field to Matthew Green and Bradley Holmes who then managed to out-fox their opponents in midfield, and mention has to go to Sam Nyilasi and Tommy Lock who were on hand to help reduce the likely threat of attack at Trowells goal.
All in all this was a much improved performance by Trowell and can do their confidence no harm as they look to begin their climb up the league.
