Trowell FC 0 Pelican Colts 4

A tough game for Trowell today as they faced league leaders Pelican. Trowell had gone through October unbeaten and were quietly confident of extending their run.

The 1st half of the match was mainly the visitors attacking Trowell’s goal. Goalkeeper Tom Lock made 3 very good saves but a high dropping ball from a shot and a goalmouth scramble had Trowell 2 goals down by the interval.

A half-time team-talk by the home sides manager seemed to work and the Trowell that everybody knew began to appear. Nice one-two link-up play from the defence by Ben Jeffrey, through midfield by Bradley Holmes and Dan Harper, up to the front line of Oliver Severn and Ryan Malone had Trowell up in the final 3rd of the pitch, but their attacks soon broke down when met by Pelican’s defenders, and following insistent pressure by Pelican, they later scored 2 more goals.

A commendable effort 2nd half by Trowell, but the final score of 4-0 was a disappointing result.

Trowell possession (in opponents half) — 35%
