Trowell struggled to get a hold in this quarter-final cup game. Good football was played through Trowell’s formation, but Wollaton’s defence and midfield cancelled out any threat from the home side. Three first half goals by Wollaton rocked Trowell’s confidence. Goal-keeper Ryan Liversidge made some well timed saves as he was caught one-on-one a few times, and his defence played a big part in keeping the score difference to three goals. A half-time team talk seemed to help as Trowell begun to believe in themselves more, and as Wollaton eased off the pressure, Trowell were able to attack. The strength of Oliver Severn through midfield and beyond looked threatening but Wollaton’s defence was simply too good on the day and their keeper was rarely troubled. Final score, 3 – 0.
