Trowell FC 2 West Bridgford Wallabies 1

Trowell recorded another league win and another 3 points in a hard fought game at their home ground, Pit Lane.

An early goal was met with cheers from the visiting supporters as the league table suggested West Bridgford were the underdogs in this match. This only fuelled Trowell’s desire to win and throughout the 1st half the game was very even, as both teams defended and also pushed forward.
A minute before half-time, Trowell were awarded a penalty when Sharratt was fouled and Matthew Green stepped up and levelled from the spot. A well taken penalty that just beat the keeper to his bottom right.
The 2nd half continued to be played very evenly until West Bridgford started to hold on to the ball and then Trowell were beginning to be pegged back. But a run and perfectly weighted pass by Bradley Holmes saw Ryan Malone latch onto the ball and strike a sweet shot that had the keeper beat as it looped into the top right corner.
West Bridgford came very close to equalising late on when Trowell goalkeeper Ryan Liversidge could do nothing with a long range effort that just cleared the crossbar. Defender Charlie Hosker had his best game yet for Trowell, making crucial challenges as the visitors pushed forward.
Trowell hung on to the win and take the points in this very close game.
