Trowell FC 1 Dunkirk Reds 3

Trowell took on an in-form Dunkirk today at Pit Lane. In windy conditions this promised to be a game of two halves.

The home team began with the wind behind them, although forwards Kristien Jacobsen and Oliver Severn found it difficult to find a way through Dunkirk’s defence, chances came from corner kicks taken by Brad Wilde, but nobody was able to capitalise and against the run of play following a defensive error the visitors went a goal up.

The 2nd half and Trowell now had it all to do, a goal down and playing into the wind, even more so when then went 2 goals down later on. Bradley Wilde pulled a goal back to make it 1-2 with a high cross/shot that beat the keeper to his top left corner. But this was to be no Trowell comeback as moments later Dunkirk put the game out of reach with their 3rd.

Despite the scoreline of 1-3, Trowell played well and were praised by both manager and coaching staff.
