Trowell Blue 7 Attenboro Colts 0

If results went Trowell’s way today, then they would claim the third division title.

Their visitors, Attenborough, had so far endured a tough season and languished third from bottom in the league. But the first half of the game was very even with Attenborough more than matching Trowell and even caused the home side to play nervously at times and rush their passing.

0 – 0 at the break caused a stern talking-to from the Trowell manager, and it seemed to have the right effect. Within minutes of the second half starting, goals by Adam Morley and Faron Langley had Trowell well in front. Further goals by Ryan Malone, Bradley Holmes, another by Faron Langley and a Matthew Green double followed over the next twenty minutes to make the final score 7 -0.

This really was a game of two halves as Trowell totally dominated the second period and their defence had very little defending to do. Trowell now only have to wait till mid-week Tuesday to win a re-arranged fixture to be crowned champions.
