Trowell Blue 2 West Bridgford Wallabies 0

Trowell’s opponents were a team that Trowell had only narrowly beat earlier in the season. A tough team that were hard to break down. After some evenly played football in midfield it was Trowell who scored first, Bradley Holmes who had worked his way down towards the right corner of Bridgeford’s half lofted a high ball into the box, but what looked to be a cross in fact turned out to find the back of the net, over the keeper. The goal scorer insisted it was a shot at goal !

As time went by, Trowell kept looking for the second goal that would settle the team, during which time defender Adam Morley’s powerful clearances from the back line helped keep the threat of an equaliser away from goalkeeper Tom Lock, who was rarely being troubled. Lewis Beaumont made strong challenges and Charlie Gough with Charlie Hosker completed Trowell’s strong defence.

2 – 0 eventually came in the final third of the game thanks to Bradley’s shot that was parried away, but only to the feet of striker Ryan Malone.

Another victory for Trowell who now pull away 5 points clear at the top of the league table.
