Trowell suffered a narrow defeat despite a spirited 2nd half fightback. Fine defending by Will and Matt and some top saves from Marshall kept Clifton out until they scored their opener from a corner and followed up with a 2nd from a long range free kick to go in at half time 2:0 up. Will converted a penalty after a handball to get Trowell back in it, but a counter attack brought Clifton a 3rd.
Trowell then stepped up a gear, with Olly, Broadie and Bailey all combining well to pile the pressure on Clifton. A super long throw from Owen then resulted in Ellis scoring Trowell’s 2nd. A final push from Trowell looked likely to bring an equaliser until the final whistle came too soon to stop Trowell avoiding defeat.
