AFC Vernon v Trowell
Trowell welcomed Vernon for the second time this year at Pit lane they had problems with their pitch so it was agreed to play at the Pit with a gail force wind and 11 tired men after Trowells all day tournament yesterday things promised to be difficult against the league champions.
Trowell began with the wind assisting and played well holding Vernon at bay and creating some chances for over 30 mins however they broke through on 32 mins to score a good goal against us and at half time the score remained at Vernon 1 Trowell 0.
The second half saw a tired Trowell playing against the strong wind but again as in the first half they held out very well and again on 30 mins they scored a bizare goal as they shot and hit the post, keeper Ben Flint was on the floor as the rebound hit him on the head only for the ball to bounce into the net taking the score to Vernon 2 Trowell 0 which is how things stayed at full time.
Well done lads a great day despite loosing you did us proud. Man of the match was awarded to the whole team.

Trowell FC v Hyson Green
Trowell welcomed Hyson Green to the Pit lane today conditions were good with a breeze blowing across the pitch.
A 9 man Hyson Green initially played well against a full Trowell squad holding Trowell at bay as they tried to overcome the 2 man difference, however when Hyson Green were bolstered by the remaining 2 players turning up, they caught Trowell out and on 30 mins scored a sloppy goal to take the score to Trowell 0 Hyson Green 1. Trowell rallied at this point and 7 minutes later Connor Chilton slotted a great through ball to Benji Hill on the edge of the area he turned and hit a great shot into the corner of the net to equalise the scores at 1 –1.
The second half saw Trowell playing far superior passing football and were unlucky not to go ahead but the game degenerated into a farce which saw 2 Hyson Green players sent off, Trowell replied in the best way possible 2 minutes into extra time by scoring a superb goal by Connor Griffin who took a great ball into the area and calmly shot by the goalkeeper to take the score to Trowell 2 Hyson Green 1 which is how things remained several minutes later when the ref finally blew for full time.
Well done lads for playing great football and for keeping your heads in a difficult match Man of the match went to Dwayne Parker who had a brilliant game at the back today.
Credit also to the referee today

Trowell FC v Radcliffe Olympic
Trowell welcomed Radcliffe to a very hard Pit lane pitch with the sun shining and a strong breeze blowing we were looking fwd to a good match
Both teams started well and chances fell to either team during a hard fought 1st half but neither team managed to score credit to Trowell as the strong breeze in their faces caused several problems
The second half was much the same until the 30th minute when Benji seized upon a good ball through to the left hand side of their area, he lashed home a terrific shot which gave their goalie no chance and took the score to Trowell 1 Radcliffe 0.
Despite further chances going both ways the score remain at 1 . 0 come full time.
Well done lads a fine victory, a great day for Benji as not only did he score but was also nominated as Man of the match for a fine display up front.

Trowell v Attenboroughs Colts
Trowell welcomed our old friends and local rivals Attenborough who have been playing well and are second in the division so we were looking fwd to a good game.
Trowell got off to a great start today applying pressure from the start and on 7 minutes were rewarded after Jack Sanders laid an inch perfect through ball to Connor Chilton just inside their half, Connor took the ball and chipped the keeper as he tried to narrow the angle and into the net for Trowells first goal .
As the game progress both sides had chances and were evenly matched, but on 25 minutes Naylor Chambers sustained a serious injury which meant Trowell were down to 10 men as we had no substitute due to players being on holiday.
Trowell battled on and sheer determination drove them on and in the last minute of the half Josh West steamed in and beat a stranded keeper with a great shot to give Trowell a 2—0 lead at half time.
The restart was delayed in order that Naylor got medical attention and taken to hospital.
From the start of the second half it was evident that a determined Trowell were going to keep the lead, and despite Attenborough’s best attempts to score held out with a courageous display of guts and effort from the whole team all pulling for Naylor, the final whistle blew as all Trowells valiant players were totally exhausted but jubilant in the fact they had beaten Attenborough with a 10 man squad the final score being Trowell 2 Attenborough 0.
Firstly both teams, staff and supporters wish Naylor all the best and a speedy recovery.
The whole Trowell team played as unit and won due to effort and determination so the whole team were awarded the men of the match award.
What more can be said a great sporting and entertaining match helped by good refereeing.
Well done lads DCF

Gotham v Trowell FC
Trowell travelled to Gotham today looking for a win after last weeks disappointment so we were well fired up and it showed as Trowell pushed right from the start however a full strength Gotham pushed back just as hard at times and took the lead late into the half with a good goal after Freddy Boutell had made a great save only to see the ball drop to their striker who smashed home.
Gotham increased the lead only minutes later after a terrific free kick found the net Gotham 2 Trowell 0 the score remained the same at half time as Trowell strode off the pitch regretting not finishing a hat full of chances in the half.
The second half saw Trowell come out battling again and soon had the ball in the net from a penalty smashed home by Jack Sanders a minute after the start. Gotham 2 Trowell 1.
Trowell continued to battle and saw Josh West connect with a great through ball 10 minutes later; he made no mistake from the edge of the area to make the scores level at 2—2.
Trowell now had the bit between their teeth and played some great football with many chances going begging again, however it was Gotham who scored next when confusion in the normally solid Trowell defence allowed their striker an open goal sliding the ball past our advancing goal keeper. Gotham 3 Trowell 2.
Trowell strength and resolved showed through as they battled further looking for the equaliser again missing a few chances before Benji Hill finally hammered home following a great build up to take the scores to Gotham 3 Trowell 3 which is how it remained at full time.
Men of the match went to Jack Sanders and Naylor Chambers who literally covered every blade of grass here today.
Great game lads played in a sporting manner, well done, but let’s start and bury some more of those chances!!!

Trowell FC v Gotham
A well balanced contest saw Trowell and Gotham battle out the majority of the first half, both teams missing several chances, but 5 minutes from half time Connor Griffin took the ball some 20 yds out on the left hand side, his shot went like a missile high into the Gotham net giving their keeper no chance.
The second half saw some good passing football from Trowell but they were never quite able to provide the finishing touch, Gotham tried desperately to equilize but Trowell held out well to the final whistle to take all 3 needed points
Trowell 1 Gotham 0
Man of the match went to Chas Worthington who had a great day battling it out in mid field, thanks to Gotham for a good sporting display.

Trowell FC v Bagthorpe
Trowell were well up for today’s match having had a 1 week break, they flew into an early lead some 2 minutes in when Connor Chilton skillfully rounded several defenders in the box and shot home for Trowells first.
Trowells second goal followed very shortly after when some great play by Benji Hill on the left saw his cross find an unmarked Josh West his volley left the visitors keeper with no chance Trowell 2 Bagthorpe 0
Trowell continued the pressure but Bagthorpe would not lie down and came back some 10 minutes later with a well taken goal, it was then Bagthorpe’s turn to apply the pressure but Trowell’s well organized defence kept them out. In fact the roles reversed again on 30 mins as Jake Stubbs shot from within the area, was deflected in for Trowell’s third goal.
Half time came with the score at Trowell 3 Bagthorpe 1.
The second half saw a more determined effort from both teams with Bagthorpe trying hard to get back into the game, chances fell to both sides with Naylor Chambers coming close hitting the bar following a fantastic determined run across their area,
It took 20 mins into the second half as Jack Sanders floated a great corner in from the left and after a scramble in the area the ball went over the line for Trowell’s fourth goal, Trowell continued to battle on as very resolute Bagthorpe side refused to lie down however the scored remained Trowell 4 Bagthorpe 1 at full time.
Man of the match went to Ryan Baxter whose Trojan like efforts at the back helped keep the visitors at bay.
Well done to the whole team for a great display against a tough Bagthorpe side, some good flowing football, with some good refereeing — a pleasure to watch –

Attenborough Colts v Trowell FC
Trowell took on top of the table Attenborough today at Chilwell on a small but relatively firm pitch.
Trowell started very well displaying some good passing football, although both teams had chances but neither were able to score.
It took some 17 minutes before we saw a cracker of a goal, when Connor Chilton received the ball approx 25 yds out from goal, his shot from there surprised the Attenborough keeper who got his hand to the ball but not enough to stop it going in such was the pace of the ball, Attenborough 0 Trowell 1.
The half progressed again with both sides missing chances until Attenborough drew level with a well taken goal on 35 mins, the scores remained 1—1 at half time.
The second half saw Attenborough take the lead early on with a close range effort after a promising start from Trowell, however as time went on the game developed into somewhat of a battle as tempers flared with heavy challenges coming in from all quarters, despite several denied penalty claims Trowell were unable to equalize and the result at the end of the day remained Attenborough 2 Trowell 1
Man of the match went to Mitchell Williams for a great display in defence
