Trowell FC U14’s win Heanor Tournament

Our Trowell U14’s followed up their win at the Rolls Royce Tournament last week with a battling performance at Heanor, against the odds and in lousy weather our 2 sides battled courageously, not only had they got up early after a late presentation night but due to injury and sickness they were reduced to a bare six players for each team. At one stage it looked as though neither would get through to the semi final stage but with good results in the later games of the group stages Trowell A earned their place and Trowell B were very unlucky not to join them just missing out in their last game. This earned Trowell A a semi final against local rivals Sandiacre and after a cracking game it came down to the sixth penalty with Lock making a fine save to put Trowell in the Final. Trowell met Belper in the Final a team that had beaten them in the group stage, a goal in the first half from Holmes from a tight angle proved enough to see Trowell to victory, thoroughly desrerved and an absolute pleasure to watch, WELL DONE BOYS !!!!
